Breast cancer surgery is to remove the cancer and part of the surrounding tissue. There are several types of breast cancer surgery. Each type of breast cancer surgery differs in the amount of tissue removed with the tumor, depending on tumor characteristics, and whether the tumor has spread (metastasized).
Lumpectomy is the most common form of breast cancer surgery. Lumpectomy is the removal of the breast tumor and part of the surrounding normal tissue. Technically, a lumpectomy is a partial mastectomy, because part of the breast tissue is removed. Recovery time for Lumpectomy is also quite long, extending over several weeks.
Performed before the procedure, your vital signs will be monitored and medication will be administered by intravenous infusion line. You are in the recovery room after surgery, lumpectomy, in which employees your heart rate, body temperature and blood pressure monitors can be moved. Hospital stay is usually not necessary with a lumpectomy, unless you also remove the lymph nodes.
The doctor may give you some painkillers and assist you with proper care after breast surgery. Your surgeon can give your exercise routine can after surgery on the arm and shoulder stiffness on the side where you have to prevent such a lumpectomy.
