Lumpectomy For Breast Cancer Surgery

Breast cancer surgery is to remove the cancer and part of the surrounding tissue. There are several types of breast cancer surgery. Each type of breast cancer surgery differs in the amount of tissue removed with the tumor, depending on tumor characteristics, and whether the tumor has spread (metastasized).

Lumpectomy is the most common form of breast cancer surgery. Lumpectomy is the removal of the breast tumor and part of the surrounding normal tissue.
